The Power of Fashion Advertisements & 3 Fall/Winter 2013 Fashion Campaigns I LOVE

June 26, 2013

It’s not too often, when I have the chance to flip through the pages of fashion magazines that I love, but when I do, I often enjoy gazing at the fashion-forward advertisements just as much as the content. In my opinion, fashion advertisements hold just as much weight in driving trends as the content presented in glossies. For instance, ads have a major impact  in conveying the mood of a trend or the  ideology behind a designers concept, than the actual photo styled editorial. Nonetheless, both have the power to evoke the same emotion in men and women prompting them to ‘want the look’. Personally, I love the artistic direction used in fashion advertisements to communicate a brands message. Here are three amazing advertisement campaigns making their way soon to a glossy near you.

VERSACE

Concept:  “Versace campaign for Autumn/Winter 2013 is stripped back to the raw power of the clothes and models. There’s no set, no distraction, just the provocation, glamour and attitude of fashion. Mert & Marcus genius transformed Kate and Saskia into these strong Versace characters.” – Donatella Versace

Models: Kate Moss, Saskia de Brauw, Travis Smith, Dominik Bauer and Matt Trethe.

Creative Team: The campaign was shot in London by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggot.  Other creative production crew members include: Giovanni Biano for art direction, Lucia Pieroni for Make up, Garren for hair and style by Melanie Ward (women), and David Bradshaw (men).
