WHIT Spring 2014 Collection Review

September 21, 2013

Prints reign in power for Spring 2014! For designer Whitney Pozgay’s namesake collection WHIT, she was inspired by exotic flowers and custom prints she encountered while on vacation in Bali. Her line up for the Spring/Summer 2014 season features hanging florals, black and white checks taken from Balinese ceremonial cloth, batiks and a colorful bird print on washed silk. Custom eyelets and basket textures were blended together with rich hues and mixed patterns to give the collection a bold aesthetic. Overall, the collection was a collaboration of sorts. Many of the prints and motifs were pulled from her photographer friend Greg Vore’s imagery then translated by artist friends Jemme Aldridge and Ali Landorf. The rooster print featured was painted by Whitney’s husband and creative partner.
