Stripe It Hot This Summer
Whether for a patriotic holiday or another day this season – stripes are a sure way to go this summer! When wearing the nautical inspired print, of course you can simply pair the traditional go to red, white and blue hues, but why not shake your style up a bit?! Try mixing the print with other stripes or solid pastel, or bright color separates. Hip fashion brand, SuperTrash has several stripe styles that can work with a few of my suggested combos, as pictured below.

Cool, Calm And Coral
Among the vast spectrum of hot summer colors offered this summer, coral tops my list! The warm tone was presented on the top Spring/Summer 2013 runways of designers such as Tracy Reese, BCBGMAXAZRIA and Reed Krakoff.
On days when you want a look that’s light and flirty, try coordinating the pinkish orange hue with other colors such turquoise, mint green, peach or desert brown. Wondering how to incorporate a dose of coral into your closet? Check out a few of my coral accessory and clothing picks!

Seal Your Skin With A Kiss!
For summer afternoon festivals or days in the sun, skin protection needs to be top of mind! It’s no secret that well moisturized skin is the key to youthful looking skin. So, for your next day trip, you may want to consider using the Sun Bum kit of moisturizers such as: SPF 3o Sunscreen lotion, lip balm and for those who end up too sun-kissed, there is also a cool down lotion.
There is nothing more fabulous than borrowing a page from a past era! This season vintage inspired bathing suits are perfect for those who want to make a splashing impression. And, for fashionistas like me who prefer not to swim, but want to look fabulous while socializing and chill in’ poolside, a one piece similar to the linen Dolce & Gabbana look below, would be ideal.

All About Leather, No Matter The Weather!
I don’t know about you, but I’m head over heels in love with leather and thrilled that the end of the trend is no where in sight! And, just because the warmer months are ahead, that doesn’t justify a reason for being a fair-weather friend of such buttery skins. Montreal-based leather line La Marque, designed by Ifigenia Papadimitriou, includes laser cut leather tops, perforated shorts and lightweight jackets – perfect for cool summer days and nights. The collection features pieces in colors such as cornflower, aqua, and coral mixed with neutrals – an ideal compliment to your light-colored pastels and floral prints you love!
Shorts this season are going the Bermuda route! The trouser style shorts were originally created to be worn in hot climates by the British Army and then were adopted as business attire in Bermuda during the 2nd World War. Fast forward to the runways of the Spring 2013 shows and Bermuda shorts were everywhere in sight making them now en vogue.
For casual summer days when you want to put more effort into a weekend look, Bermuda shorts really can serve as a more dresses up option. The relaxed short style ranges from mid-thigh to knee-length and can be dressed up or down as necessary for a family picnic or cocktails! Here are some options:
FOR DAY
Keep the look relaxed – yet casual chic with a denim shirt, striped tank and wedged sandal.
FOR NIGHT
For night add a hint of femininity to the masculine style short with a flirty peplum shirt and strappy heels.
Step Out In Gladiators The Right Way
Gladiators are in….again! This season, the caged shoe styles range from heels to flats and knee-length to ankle length – in many colors for any occasion. So, if you’re tempted to try the trend this time around, make sure to rock the look right! Whether covering your legs or wearing a short skirt , here are a few of my tips on how to wear the gladiator shoe trend this season!
MID-CALF TO TALL GLADIATORS
If showing your legs in a short skirt or thigh-high shorts, go with a pair of mid-calf or knee-length gladiators.
SLIGHTLY ABOVE THE ANKLE OR ANKLE-LENGTH GLADIATORS
If wearing a skirt that stops at the knee or just below, go for a gladiator style that stops near the ankle. But, when wearing gladiator styles with a skirt, add a little height in a heel.
BELOW THE ANKLE GLADIATORS
You can absolutely wear a gladiator style with pants or capris when the sandal stops just below the ankle.
