There are times when a woman’s busy schedule just doesn’t allow the time to sit down for a manicure. Then there are those who simply want to switch up their nails every few days to fit their outfits needs. Both are the case for a D.I.Y solution and both can be accomplished with these tips by MARS the Salon owner Hiroko Fujikawa.
Red Tips with Leopard Print:
1. File your nails into desired shape.
2. Apply Base coat, and then apply 2 coats of clear polish on your nails.
3. Apply a bright red polish from the tip to middle of nails.
4. Using a precision art blush (or nail polish remover pen), create a half moon shape.
5. Apply a white or beige polish to the tips of two alternating fingers. Use a precision art brush (or nail polish remover pen) to create a half moon shape.
6. Using a skinny brush (or nail art pen), apply camel colored acrylic paint to create ‘spots’. Then, using the brush/pen again, use black or brown acrylic paint to outline each spot.
7. Apply top coat to seal and add shine!
Mint/Green Rhinestone Floral:
1. File nail into desired shape.
2. Apply two coats of a light green polish to two nails, then apply two coats of a darker shade green to three nails. *Recommend Essie’s Mint Candy Apple and Pretty Edgy colors.
3. Using a precision art blush, draw four-leaf clover shapes onto each nail. Create shape by placing four white dots together.*Recommend using white acrylic nail paint to draw the flower.
4. Apply Rhinestones. Carefully apply mini nail rhinestones to the center of each clover shape using nail glue to add sparkle and dimension.
5. Apply top coat to seal and add shine!
Pastels with Checker Print:
1. File nail into desired shape.
2. Apply 2 coats of white polish to each nail.
3. Using a precision art brush, create a checkered pattern on three alternating nails using light yellow and blue polish.
